During the class, Doug will instruct everyone on how to select, prep and smoke the best brisket, ribs, salmon, and more. You'll get the insider information on what makes his barbecue so unique. Wheeler’s Backyard BBQ, located in the Design District might draw you in with their working 50 foot Ferris wheel, but it's the BBQ that'll keep you coming back for more. Dallas native Doug Pickering is the Pitmaster at Ferris Wheeler’s, but his barbecue influences draw from beyond the Texas borders. Classic Texas brisket is, of course, a major player on the menu, but BBQ nerds can detect influences from Kansas City, Memphis, and the Carolinas in Ferris Wheeler’s meats and sauces.
Noble Rey Brewing, an independently owned craft brewery opened in the Design District in 2015. Known for their creative can marketing and ability to not take themselves too seriously, their beers are some of our favorites.
