Want to know what it’s like at one of our events? Check out the news below!
Last year at Meat Fight’s MF1K I had the opportunity to meet Ryan and Sunnye Childers of RVC Promotions. RVC is a food and beverage promotions company with events such as cooking classes, alcohol tastings, as well as BBQ bus tours. Their business really intrigued me and I wanted to go to an event, but life happened and it took me nearly a year to make it to one of their events. Ryan invited me as his guest to attend a Beer and BBQ Pairing at Old Town Brewery in Downtown Lewisville, TX and I was finally able to attend. The night included music and beers paired to go with a BBQ dinner presented by Bet the House BBQ.
The Low and Slow BBQ Music Festival was held at the Longhorn Ballroom Saturday night in Dallas Texas. The night featured dishes served up by BBQ favorites like Bone Daddy's, Bet the House BBQ, Lakewood Smokehouse, and Smoky Rose. Live music kept the party going till 11 PM with musical guests Simon Flory Trio, The King Bucks, Bryce Bangs, Bri Bagwell, and Zane Williams.
Low & Slow North Texas BBQ and Music Festival is the inaugural go at what its planners are hoping will be an annual event. In a sweltering summer, when shade has been precious and outdoor festivals trying, the one this Saturday (with barbecue masters like Lakewood Smokehouse, One90 Smoked Meats, and Smoky Rose), is blissfully covered, in the Longhorn Ballroom.
Four Corners & Mexican food fans mixed up their Cinco De Mayo celebrations this year at Mezclar: A Celebration of Modern Mexican Fare on May 2, 2018. Seven of Dallas's top Hispanic chefs got together for an amazing night of Mexican cuisine. Original dishes such as the Duck Flautas disappeared in a flash! Then the evening finished strong with Anastacia Quinones' deserts incuding a Smore's Taco.
I hopped on a bus for a BBQ tour this week from the people at RVC Promotions, these are the same people who do multiple weekly pop up dinners and cooking classes with great chefs from around the DFW area. They are also doing a series of BBQ tours which have taken guests to the Hill Country and all points in Dallas and Fort Worth.
Lunchtime on a Saturday isn’t always a thing. Often overshadowed by the expectations of weekend brunch, lunch usually doesn’t get its just do. But, on Saturday, August 19th that wasn’t the case, as foodie fans and booze lovers made their way to The Brixton at Shops at Legacy and took part in an afternoon of splendor with celebrity Chef Tiffany Derry.
The pop-up dinner is the ultimate in self-expression for a chef. No longer are the constraints of concept in play, instead the chef may allow his culinary imagination to take flight and escape the daily grind of a set menu. This may have been true at a recent dinner held in the warehouse of 1888 Olive Press located in East Dallas and owned by a former Lamborghini salesman, Kenneth Hamburger, II who hosted the James Beard winning and exec chef from Smoke, Tim Byres.
PLANO – WHISTLE BRITCHES IS COMING TO SHOPS AT WILLOW BEND! That was one of the biggest takeaways from the Neiman Marcus Pop-Up Dinner Series that took place Thursday night. The man of the hour, Chef Omar Flores, made the announcement to a room full of diners who gathered at Mariposa Restaurant, located on the 3rd floor of the Dallas-based retail store.
